Emailed my professor asking if I needed to take her final (because she said if we got a certain grade on everything else we wouldn’t need to) and she replied saying: “See you soon.”

Don’t worry. Re-read the syllabus. I had to take the final for Chemistry as I didn’t get a 90 on every test up to this point, but he said he’d drop the lowest. I had a 92, a 90 a 87 and then the final which was un-taken. So I showed up, did a few of the questions, drew a terrible picture of Batman on the last questions and turned it in.

That just pisses me off. It is a “yes” or “no” question, “see you soon” doesn’t answer the question clearly. Is it really that hard to type “Yes, you need to take the final.”? No, no it isn’t. I just did it for a meaningless internet comment, you’d think she’d be able to do it for something that is a bit more important.

Nope and didn’t care. I am one of those ‘lifetime’ learners. I am always in school. I either go free because of work (we have to have certain classes or skills which constantly need updating) or I get paid to test classes. I generally go to learn and have fun.

School is more fun once you get your first degree and just return for ‘self improvement’. GPA is less relevant and you focus on classes that are fun or on a 2nd or 3rd degree you want. There are also times I look at my grades and say “Nah, not doing that.” However, I am still the guy that will destroy the grade curve in some classes. I got a 127 on one test in a Junior level class on Water Management. But being the older guy, I am the guy you want to team up with for group projects or Lab Partner.

I was that guy too, I had angry peers. And yeah I definitely would have had more fun in the classroom if I had more control over my curriculum but at this point, I’m just glad it is over...loans included.
